This Recruitment Privacy Statement (“Privacy Statement”), last updated in December 2023, applies to all information processed by BearingPoint when you use BearingPoint’s online career resources such as the application website https://www.bearingpoint.com/en/careers/ (“Website”) or the applicant management platform provided by Teamtailor on behalf of BearingPoint (hereinafter “Controller”, “we”, “us”, “our”) (“Service”). It is important to us that all individuals who use our online career resources (“Users”, “you”, “Data Subjects”) are informed about the handling of their personal data in the applicant management process. We process personal data that you submit to the Website or the Service and use it for recruitment purposes.

What personal data does BearingPoint process?
When you apply for a position at BearingPoint, we will process the personal data you provide during the application process. This personal data includes, in particular:
- Your name and contact details
- Data about your qualifications, professional experience, and career history
- Data you submit or enter yourself, such as resumes, university and training certificates, work references, cover letters, or other written documents, such as recommendation letters from previous employers, referees
- Publicly available information about you
- Photos and videos
- Whether you are authorized to work in Switzerland, copy of ID/residence permit
- Salary expectations
- Data provided by recruitment agencies
- Your feedback on questions from our HR department
Legal basis for processing; Consent
By submitting your personal data, you consent to the processing of your data by us and confirm that the information contained therein is accurate. The submission of required documents and personal data to BearingPoint is voluntary, but if you do not provide the required information, we may not be able to consider your application for a posted position.
We collect personal data about users from users when they:
- Apply through the Service or otherwise add personal data about themselves either personally or using a third-party source such as LinkedIn or Facebook; and
- Use the Service to communicate with our recruitment department and add personal data about themselves, either personally or using a third-party provider such as LinkedIn or Facebook.
We collect data from third parties such as LinkedIn and other publicly available sources and may contact you for recruitment purposes. This is called “sourcing” and is done manually by our recruitment department or automatically within the Service.
By agreeing to this Privacy Statement, you agree to the following:
- The transfer of personal information provided to BearingPoint during the application process for the purpose of applicant management by BearingPoint. Some BearingPoint companies may be located in countries outside your home country, which may include countries where data protection laws differ from those in your home country.
- That BearingPoint shares your personal information with other BearingPoint companies to fill vacancies within the BearingPoint group.
- That BearingPoint retains your application documents for a period of 6 months to match them with other vacancies.
- You also agree that BearingPoint retains your contact details to inform you about future job offers and recruitment events.

We may also obtain information from third parties to conduct reference or background checks, if necessary and legally permissible.
To the extent that personal data you voluntarily submit during the application process includes information about your racial or ethnic origin, physical or mental health or condition, professional assessments or educational qualifications, commission (or alleged commission) of a crime or related proceedings; your political opinions or beliefs; religious views; your sexual orientation, membership in a trade union or political party, you expressly permit BearingPoint to process this information for the purposes of your application and the application process.
Why we process your personal data

- Make a decision about establishing an employment relationship with you
- Fulfill our legal obligations, such as verifying your work permit for Germany
- Pursue our legitimate business interests, including managing the hiring process, assessing your suitability for the position, and deciding whether to make you a job offer
Information you provide
Providing personal information, including through the Website and the Service, is voluntary. However, please note that the lack of sufficient information may result in BearingPoint not considering you for employment, promotion, transfer, or relocation.
Transfer of personal data to third parties
We do not sell or transfer your personal data to unauthorized third parties. If we transfer your personal data to third parties, it is only to:
- Our contractors and subcontractors who act as our processors and subcontractors to provide the service according to our instructions;

If your application is unsuccessful, BearingPoint may continue to store and use the personal data collected during the application process to consider you for new positions and, if applicable, refer to a previous application if you resubmit your resume or other information to BearingPoint.
If you receive and accept an employment offer from BearingPoint, the personal data collected during your employment will become part of your BearingPoint personnel file, which will be retained during and for the legally permissible period after your employment with BearingPoint.
The personal data collected through the Service and the Website will be stored and processed either within the EU/EEA or in a third country; in a third country, we process or have the data processed, subject to legal or contractual permissions, only if the special conditions of Art. 44 et seq.
